It can be challenging to know when to see the dentist for an emergency and wait to see if a pain passes. We have listed some of the most common dental emergencies below. If you experience any of the symptoms listed, come to our urgent care dental office. Excessive bleeding, tissue tearing, inflammation, and intense toothaches are just some of the reasons to see us right away. We will do everything to get you into our dental office, no matter the time of day.

A knocked-out tooth is one of the most common dental emergencies that can occur. It is painful and sudden. A knocked-out tooth can happen in physical activities when you don’t protect your teeth with a mouth guard, biting down on something hard, or just running into something hard like a pole or a wall. If this happens to you, you should find the tooth and do what you can to keep it moist by putting it in milk or saltwater. If you are bleeding, use a bandana or gauze to bite down on to apply pressure.

Most importantly, see us right away. We can help with bleeding and relieve pain. We can also restore your smile!

A broken or chipped tooth is the most painful dental emergency because it will tear the nerves and blood vessels in the pulp of your teeth. Again, we urge you to find the missing pieces and come into our office immediately. There is a chance we could restore your original tooth. Please do what you can to stop the pain with any over-the-counter medication that works for you until you come into our office. If the tooth in your mouth is sharp, we recommend using wax so that you don’t tear any of the tissue in your mouth with it.

An abscessed tooth is a tooth infection that needs to be professionally diagnosed. However, there are symptoms that you can look out for. If you feel pain, inflammation in your tooth socket, pus leaking from the gum line, or severe discomfort, you should come to our urgent care dental. We can help resolve the infection and help you avoid losing any teeth. If not treated, the symptoms will worsen, and the restoration process will become more complicated.

Other issues will require you to come to our urgent dental care. Some of these reasons include biting your tongue, tearing tissue, losing a dental appliance, and many more! If you wonder when is the best time to see us, we would say that if your issue is outside of the symptoms, we have listed, wait until the next day for a regular appointment. At Aspen Smile Dentistry, we want to clarify that you are our number one priority. If you have any questions about our urgent care dental, please call us today! Please don’t wait to receive help when it comes to oral pain. We can correct it today!
