Dental Bridges in Aspen, Colorado

Here at Aspen Smile Dentistry, we offer our patients a wide range of restorative options and have helped so many achieve the smile of their dreams. Many individuals need a permanent smile fix due to either missing teeth or severe decay. Luckily, we offer multiple restorative services, one of which is dental bridges.

What is a Dental Bridge?

If you are missing a tooth and wish to replace it, we offer single tooth dental implants that can fill in that gap in no time. If you miss a couple of teeth right next to each other, we suggest a bridge.

A fixed dental bridge allows us to close the gaps caused by missing teeth. The bridge comprises two or more artificial, custom-made teeth that come together with one or two dental crowns placed onto existing teeth or dental implants to anchor the bridge in place.

Most dental bridges are made of porcelain, durable and stain-resistant material. Before getting your dental bridge, ask your dentist what material they will use and its benefits.

To make a custom dental bridge, you will work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals in our office to discuss and collect information based on what your new teeth will look like. The teeth on the dental bridge are made out of porcelain and are strong enough to withstand the everyday pressures of natural teeth.

Why Do I Need a Bridge?

Having missing teeth can affect the way that your existing natural teeth function, as well as your overall health. Lasting or surrounding teeth near the gap can move and shift into the open area, creating significant gaps between the teeth. These large gaps can cause chewing or even speaking problems.

Not only does having multiple missing teeth cause problems for the health and anatomy of your smile, but it can also affect your confidence. We encourage our patients to take advantage of our state-of-the-art technology and treatments to achieve the smile they want.

How do I Care For My Dental Bridge?

At Aspen Smile Dentistry, we recommend that you care for your dental bridge similarly that you care for your natural teeth. Your dental bridge is bonded in place and cannot be removed. We recommend that you develop a good oral hygiene routine. You should brush, floss, and use mouthwash twice a day with this routine. We recommend that patients use low abrasive, fluoridated toothpaste with a soft-bristle toothbrush. This mixture will remove plaque and debris but avoid damaging your teeth and gums.

Additionally, the fluoridated toothpaste will strengthen the outside of your teeth, the enamel, decreasing the risk of developing tooth decay.

Another good way to care for your teeth is by visiting Aspen Smile Dentistry every six months. During your visit, your dentist and his team of professionals will remove plaque and tartar that you cannot remove with a regular toothbrush.

Additionally, your dentist will examine your dental bridge to ensure it works properly. Following these tips will help ensure that your dental bridge lasts for a long time.
