Personalized Treatment at Aspen Smile Dentistry 

Each treatment plan differs for each patient depending on the state of their teeth and overall mouth anatomy. The first stage in receiving braces involves working closely with the dentist to gather information and data about your teeth. To conclude this information, we collect the following: 

• Pictures of your face and jaw 
• X-rays of your teeth and jaw 
• Impressions of both your upper and lower arches

Braces have many components that contribute to the overall design, but the brackets and the archwires are the two main components. 

Brackets: we will bond small metal cube-like pieces to the center of the outer surface of each tooth. These brackets provide a way for the teeth to be moved individually. 

Archwires: We attach a wire formed into an arch through each bracket—these wires on either the lower or the upper part of your smile. The archwires pull or push each bracket into the desired place when tightened according to your treatment plan. 

Traditional braces are one of the best ways to enhance and transform your entire smile. Because each patient is different, treatment plans and timings will vary. On average, a traditional braces treatment takes 1-2 years. 

Who can get Braces?

Generally, traditional braces have been popular among the teenage and young adult groups but have recently gained popularity in the adult population. If you wonder what the right age is for your child to start orthodontic treatment, we would suggest sometime between 10 and 14. At this point, all adult teeth have grown in, and the jaw and teeth are still in a malleable state. 

That being said, we also recommend braces to anyone above the age of 10 who would like to straighten their smile.
